Chef Todd Haliner does an excellent job cranking delicious goodies out of the tiny kitchen at Nero’s Italian Restaurant. Try the Veal, it’s the best in the city… it’s the ONLY in the city for that matter, and you can get it prepared three ways (sometimes four if there is a special) Saltimbocca, Parmesan, or Marsala. And they serve a mean Spaghetti and Meatballs here too, but Italian isn’t the only fare you will find, Cassoulet, Steak Au Poivre, and the best Lasagna in the area! There is always fresh fish on the menu, and they are more than happy to take care of special requests or dietary needs like gluten free. Make sure you save room for the Southwest Cannoli, it is a real treat, and they make it in house.
Nero’s is the longest operating restaurant in the city and is consistent and good! Dinner will range in price from $9.95 for basic pasta dishes like Spaghetti up to $26.95 for the Steak Au Poivre. They have a full bar, and carry our local Guy Drew Wines by both the bottle and glass. Make sure to ask for Connie, she’s been working there forever and she will take excellent care of you!
The place is tiny so call ahead for reservations 970-565-7366 for both dining room and patio seating.
